Our Story
A Local Thornlie Podiatry Clinic
Located within Westcare Medical Centre in Spencer Village, The Foot Dojo Podiatry strives to provide accessible, quality podiatric care where patients feel valued and cared for. Being independently owned and operated by director and podiatrist, David, our patients aren’t just numbers on a screen, but real people who we want to share genuine relationships and trust with.
Dr. David Handojo
Director/Podiatrist
Director and podiatrist, David, completed his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree at the University of Western Australia at the end of 2019, and has been working full-time as a podiatrist since then. He has always had the goal of owning his own podiatry clinic, and established The Foot Dojo in 2025.
David has had experience managing all common aspects of podiatric care, but has a particular interest in biomechanics and musculoskeletal injuries. This includes conditions such as plantar fasciopathy (fasciitis), Achilles tendinopathy (tendinitis), ankle pain, shin splints and knee pain. With these (and all other) conditions, he understands the importance of identifying any underlying factors, so that both cause and symptoms are addressed, resulting in longer-lasting outcomes.
Outside the clinic, David’s passion lies in dance, currently training and teaching beginner classes in the street style known as popping. He has also trained in choreography, and competed under The Society Dance Company as part of The Faction mega crew, placing second at the Australian Dance Crew Championships in 2023, and third at Danchella in 2024. David also enjoys going to the gym for general strength and fitness, valuing its importance for long-term health and mobility.
David loves getting to know his patients and learning about their stories, passions, and goals, and looks forward to helping them get back to doing what they love.
